Patrick's practice is primarily in the areas of family law and civil litigation. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto ('73) and Osgoode Hall Law School ('78). He is a long time member of the Canadian Bar Association Family Law, Civil litigation and Construction Law sections, as well as the Peel Law Association. He is a past president of the Caledon Chamber of Commerce and the Kinsmen Club of Bolton. He enjoys a chance to go sailing whenever he can and is a past Chair of the Lake Ontario Racing Council. Patrick lives in rural Caledon with his wife Susan, who is a faculty member at York University. They have one adult daughter. Patrick endeavours to assist his clients in finding negotiated solutions to their disputes whenever possible. Particularly in the family law context, most people prefer a negotiated settlement, especially when children are involved. Patrick is a certified Collaborative Family Law practitioner. However, where litigation is called for, Patrick is committed to providing the best possible representation for his clients. He has appeared in all levels of Ontario courts in connection with divorce and family law matters, construction liens, real property litigation, contract claims, estates, and others. Pat maintains currency in his fields of practice through frequent participation in programs sponsored by the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada and others, and through the firm's in-house research facilities.
